Performance by Marion Ritzmann: „Eins bis…“

Performance von Marion Ritzmann bei der 6. PERFORMANCE REIHE NEU-OERLIKON 2015, im Wahlenpark: „Eins bis…“

Um 15.30 Uhr kommt Marion Ritzmann mit einer Leiter auf die Wiese des Wahlenpark und stellt sie beim grossen Tor im Wahlenpark auf. In ihrer Nähe spielen einige Kinder mit einem Ball. Sie klettert die Leiter hoch und sitzt darauf. Dabei hat sie in der linken Hand eine alte Schreibmaschine und einen Stapel A4Blätter. Sie nimmt der Deckel weg und stellt ihn unter ‘ihren Sitzplatz’ und die Schreibmaschine auf ihren Schoss. Sie nimm zwei Blätter auf einmal. Ein Blatt hält sie in ihrem Mund, das andere Blatt wird in die Schreibmaschine hineingelegt und beginnt etwas kurzes zu schreiben. Man weiss noch nicht was sie darauf schreibt. Erst als das erste A4 Blatt beim rausdrehen der Schreibmaschine hinunter fällt, weiss man, dass die Zahl „eins“ darauf geschrieben wurde.

Viele Blätter folgen zwei, drei, vier, fünf, sechs, sieben, acht, neuen, zehn. Der Wind weht und manche A4 Blätter fallen den Zuschauern fast in die Hände. Ich kriege das Blatt mit der Zahl zweiundvierzig. Ein Mädchen sammelt ein paar Blätter und liest die Zahlen der Mama laut vor. Alles wiederholt sich. Marion nimmt manchmal zwei Blätter auf einmal. Ein Blatt hält sie in ihrem Mund, das andere Blatt wird in die Schreibmaschine hineingelegt und sie schreibt wieder eine Zahl.

Nach ca 45 Minuten wechselt das Publikum den Platz und geht zu
Saskia Edens & Jérôme Karsenti’s Performance beim Wasserbecken.

Marion bleibt mit ihrer Schreibmaschine alleine sitzend auf der Leiter und schreibt weiter. Fünfzig, sechzig, siebzig, achtzig, neunzig, hundert. Die Sonne scheint und die Blätter fallen, wie die von den Bäumen in dieser Jahreszeit. Sie schreibt weiter. Viele Leute spielen im Park, viele andere schauen Saskia und Jérôme’s Performance ‘transformers’ zu. Eine Frau wiederum beobachtet sitzend auf einer Bank was die stille Frau auf der Leiter macht. Ein Vater und das Mädchen sammeln die Blätter auf und lesen was darauf geschrieben ist. Was ist das? -scheint das Mädchen zu sagen-. Ab und zu schaut Marion in die Ferne.

Es sind ca eineinhalb Stunden vorbeigegangen seit sie, damit angefangen hat und einen Stapel von etwas mehr als 100 Blättern einzeln durchgezählt und beschriftet hat. Marion Ritzmann steigt langsam von der Leiter und verschwindet aus der grünen Fläche so still wie sie auch gekommen und hochgeklettert ist. Die Sonne scheint immer noch, es ist ca 17:15 Uhr. Die Leiter bleibt auf der Wiese und nur die weissen Blätter deuten darauf hin, dass jemand etwas da gemacht hat.

At 3.30 pm, Marion Ritzmann arrives at the meadow in Wahlenpark with a ladder. She sets it up by the big gate in Wahlenpark. Some children were playing with a ball near her. She climbs up the ladder and sits down. She has an old typewriter and a stack of A4 sheets in her left hand. She removes the cover and puts it under ‚her seat‘ and the typewriter on her lap. She takes two sheets at once. One sheet is in her mouth, the other is in the typewriter and she begins to write something short. You don’t know what she’s writing. It is only when the first A4 sheet of paper falls when the typewriter is turned off that you notice that the number „one“ has been written on it.

Many sheets follow: two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten. The wind blew and some A4 sheets almost fell into the hands of the spectators. I got the one with the number forty-two. A little girl picked up a few sheets of paper and read the numbers out loud to her mother. Everything was repeated. Sometimes Marion would take two sheets at the same time. She holds one sheet in her mouth, puts the other sheet in the typewriter and writes another number.

Marion remains alone on the ladder with her typewriter and continues to write. Fifty, sixty, seventy, eighty, ninety, one hundred. The sun is shining and the leaves are falling, as they do from the trees at this time of year. She continues writing. Many people play in the park, others watch Saskia and Jérôme’s performance ‚Transformers‘. A woman was sitting on a bench, watching what the quiet woman on the ladder was doing. A father and his daughter are picking up leaves and reading what is written on them. What is this? -the girl seems to say. From time to time, Marion would look off into the distance.

About an hour and a half has passed since she started counting and labelling a pile of just over 100 sheets of paper. Marion Ritzmann slowly climbs down the ladder and disappears from the green space as quietly as she came and climbed up. The sun was still shining, it was about 5.15 pm. The ladder remains in the meadow, and only the white leaves indicate that someone has done something there.
