12. PERFORMANCE REIHE NEU-OERLIKON 2021 – Zum 50. Jahrestag des Frauenwahlrechts in der Schweiz

Längst hat sich die PERFORMANCE REIHE NEU-OERLIKON nicht nur in der Zürcher, sondern in der gesamten Schweizer Kunstszene etabliert. Das soll auch 2021 so sein. Trotz der schwierigen Zeiten, in denen wir leben, wollen wir weiterhin Performancekunst zeigen und damit den öffentlichen Raum erlebbar machen, was wiederum Austausch, Teilen, Dialog bedeutet.

Im 50. Jubiläumsjahr des Frauenwahlrechts wird sich das Performance-Festival erneut mit zahlreichen gesellschafts- und kulturpolitischen Fragen auseinandersetzen.

Die 12. PERFORMANCE REIHE NEU-OERLIKON 2021 legt einen besonderen Fokus auf den feministischen Diskurs, auf Gleichberechtigung und sexuelle und kulturelle Identität. Aber auch die Frage nach dem Agieren im öffentlichen Raum wird thematisiert. Die verschiedenen Begriffe wie Gender, Sexualität, Feminismus, aber auch die Poetik des Körpers zu erleben, zu sehen und (bestimmte) soziale, politische und kulturelle Probleme zu erkennen, wahrzunehmen und zu spüren.

Das heißt, uns dazu zu bringen, über die Bedeutung dieses Alltags nachzudenken, und uns gleichzeitig zu erlauben, ihn ‚einzufordern‘ und nicht nur sichtbar zu machen.

Das Alltägliche aus einer anderen Perspektive, einer anderen Ästhetik und einem anderen Diskurs, nämlich dem der Performancekunst, trägt zur Schaffung einer neuen Identitätsschicht und eines neuen Charakters des öffentlichen Raums bei.

Ausgehend von der Prämisse, dass der öffentliche Raum ein politischer Raum ist, sind die Aktionen des Körpers als solcher: als politisches und soziales Subjekt. Sich auf die eine oder andere Weise zu identifizieren und wiederzuerkennen ist eine Möglichkeit, mit dem Körper im öffentlichen Raum zu intervenieren und sich zu positionieren.

Wenn Geschlechtergerechtigkeit tatsächlich eine der wesentlichen Grundlagen ist, um eine friedliche, wohlhabende und nachhaltige Welt zu schaffen, so die ONU, warum herrschen dann heute immer noch patriarchale Strukturen vor? Warum sprechen wir immer noch von struktureller Diskriminierung? Warum ist die Kluft zwischen den Geschlechtern immer noch zu groß? In vielen Ländern sind Männer immer noch sehr privilegiert, warum? Auf dem Weg zur vollen Gleichberechtigung haben wir Frauen auch in den so genannten fortgeschrittenen europäischen Ländern noch große Hürden zu überwinden.

Das Genre der Performance wird an zwei Tagen vermittelt, es wird diskutiert, reflektiert und debattiert.

Am Samstag, 4. September, werden acht (8) künstlerische Positionen aus Basel, Luzern, Tessin, St. Gallen, Montagny-près-Yverdon und Zürich gezeigt und am Sonntag, 5. September, finden die Resonanz und das Künstlergespräch im Das marsie – Raum für kollektive Kunst statt.

Der intersektionale und interkulturelle Faktor ist ein wichtiger Bestandteil des Festivals, aber ebenso wichtig ist das Anliegen, eine Mischung der Generationen zu vermitteln.

Es werden dreizehn Künstlerinnen eingeladen, die acht Performances durchführen werden. Insgesamt stehen fünf einzelne Künstlerinnen und drei Kollektive auf dem Programm.

Die 12. PERFORMANCE REIHE NEU OERLIKON 2021 richtet sich in erster Linie an alle Kunst- und Kulturinteressierten, an die Wohn- und Arbeitsbevölkerung von Neu-Oerlikon und Oerlikon sowie an Gäste und Besucher*innen aus anderen Teilen der Stadt und des Landes.

Es wird kein Eintritt verlangt.

12th PERFORMANCE REIHE NEU-OERLIKON 2021 – 50th anniversary of women`s suffrage in Switzerland

Two days. Two places. Two formats

The PERFORMANCE REIHE NEU-OERLIKON has long since established itself not only in the Zurich art scene, but also in the Swiss art scene at large. This should continue in 2021. Despite the difficult times in which we live, we want to continue to show performance art and thus make public space a tangible experience, which in turn means exchange, sharing and dialogue.
In the year of the 50th anniversary of women’s suffrage, the performance festival will once again address numerous social and cultural issues.
The 12th PERFORMANCE REIHE NEU-OERLIKON 2021 will focus in particular on feminist discourse, gender equality and sexual and cultural identity. The question of acting in public space will also be addressed. The aim is to experience and see the various concepts such as gender, sexuality, feminism, but also the poetics of the body, and to recognise, perceive and feel (certain) social, political and cultural problems.
The aim is to make us think about the meaning of this everyday life. And at the same time to allow us to ‚claim‘ it and not just make it visible.
The everyday from a different perspective, a different aesthetic and a different discourse, namely that of performance art, contributes to the creation of a new layer of identity and a new character of public space.
Starting from the premise that public space is a political space, the actions of the body as such: as a political and social subject. Identifying and recognising oneself in one way or another is a way of intervening and positioning oneself with the body in public space.
Why are patriarchal structures still prevalent today if, according to the UN, gender equality is one of the essential foundations for creating a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable world? Why do we still talk about structural discrimination? Why is the gender gap still too wide? In many countries, men are still very privileged. Why is that? We women still have a long way to go on the road to full equality, even in the so-called advanced European countries.

The genre of performance will be taught over two days, with discussion, reflection and debate.
On Saturday, 4 September, eight (8) artistic positions from Basel, Lucerne, Ticino, St. Gallen, Montagny-près-Yverdon and Zurich will be shown, and on Sunday, 5 September, the resonance and the artists‘ talk will take place at Das marsie – Raum für kollektive Kunst.

The intersectional and intercultural factor is an important part of the festival, but just as important is the aim of bringing together different generations.

Thirteen artists have been invited to give eight performances. A total of five individual artists and three collectives are on the programme.

The 12th PERFORMANCE SERIES NEU OERLIKON 2021 is aimed primarily at people interested in art and culture, residents and workers in Neu-Oerlikon and Oerlikon, as well as guests and visitors from other parts of the city and the country.

There is no entrance fee.
